Researchers from Middle School Matters will conduct professional development on research-based instruction in the areas of Reading, Writing, and Mathematics as part of San Angelo ISD’s “Summer Learning-Palooza.” Teachers will choose to attend sessions in the morning and afternoon focusing on practical, hands-on strategies that can be immediately implemented in the classroom.

Location: Pearland ISD Central Administration Building
Staff from Middle School Matters Institute will provide professional development to Pearland ISD social studies teachers as part of their Gifted/Talented yearly six-hour update. Teachers will receive training in three literacy-based strategies they can implement in their classrooms to promote higher-order thinking and content learning. The strategies also feature elements of differentiated instruction and cooperative learning.

This year’s AIE Conference programming addresses campus, district, and statewide needs, with a focus on connecting leaders to inspire accountability, innovation, and possibility for school improvement through partnerships and research-based best practices. Through a variety of opportunities, participants will leave the conference with lasting experiences, research-based insight, and tangible strategies and tools.
