Feedback from Past Middle School Matters Conferences

General Feedback:

This is the most specific conference I have attended in many years.”
—Middle school principal

It was evident by their presentations [that] the people selected to present are experts in their areas. Teachers, by nature, can be critical of presentations. I love breakout sessions that enable me to ‘take away’ practice ideas to implement in the classroom.”
—Middle school teacher

I feel that this conference was the most useful of my teaching career—very informative, interesting, inspiring, and motivating.”
—MSMI Summer Conference participant

This conference shed light on some ‘glows’ and many ‘grows.’ Through the process of stepping back and reflecting on what’s working and what needs to work better, I am confident our student outcomes will grow exponentially next year.”

Feedback on Facilitated Leadership Team Planning Time:

I think we were prepared because we did a very thorough plan. It’s easier to implement because we had the time, the resources, the right people, [and] everything was ready. Often times, there’s a problem, but [because] you don’t have the time to solve it, you do something and you fail. By having the time and resources, you implement it well.”
—MSMI Summer Conference participant

I appreciated having built-in planning time to digest the sessions, learn about the ones teammates attended, and create actual plans to implement.”
—Middle school principal

So excited to design and work with our plan. Very rarely do I leave a conference with an actual design for a plan in place. I feel very comfortable to continue to develop our plan.”
—Middle school principal

I’m trying very hard to think of a clear and clever way to express my excitement about implementing our plan next year. It’s funny to think that I’m already looking forward to the next school year when my summer vacation hasn’t even started!”
